International students no longer required to take in-person classes to stay in the US

I wanted to reach out with an important visa update: This afternoon, the Trump administration announced it has rescinded last week’s new SEVP regulations. International students will not be required to attend in-person classes in order to be eligible for an F-1 visa.

The reversal is in response to nationwide pushback to last week’s announcement. Seventeen states and more than 180 universities, including several of our partners, sued the federal government over the proposed changes. The message from schools, businesses, and the public is clear: The US values international students and will continue to champion access to our educational institutions for all who wish to study in America.
